Tips for Saving Time Working With a Carrier
Have the right
information:
- If you have an application, policy,
or member number be sure it's handy when you call your
carrier
- For family plans, be sure you have
everyone's basic information i.e. social security number,
date of birth, doctor's name and phone number etc.
- For claims issues, have the hospital/clinic bill in your
hand when you call
Contact the right
person:
- You will only frustrate yourself if
you have a claims issue and you call a number labeled
enrollment.
- If you aren't sure who to call there is contact
information above or you can contact
us.
Be proactive:
- Don't wait until the day before your
deadline. Like it or not even simple issues can take a week
or more to resolve.
- If the carrier has requested medical
records you can expedite the process by making a call to
your doctor and asking them to make that request a priority.
- Always write down the name of anyone you speak with and
any confirmation number they give you.
