Group Insurance

Whether your firm is looking for its first group insurance plan or is simply making sure it has the best value, Choice Plus Insurance can help.

Some things you should know:

In Colorado, Group health insurance is guaranteed issue and must include maternity. "Guaranteed Issue" means that any company offering group health insurance in the state must offer your firm a plan. The company does have the option to limit your plan selection and charge more or less depending on the health of you and your employees.

In addition to just major medical there are typically other features that may be included in a group plan. They range from common products like life, vision, and dental insurance to more exotic options like quarter four deductible rollover and funding mechanisms like Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs).

Most carriers will require your firm to pay for at least 50% of the plan costs for your employees and give you the option to contribute to the costs for their families' plan. There are also participation requirements in Colorado. Subtracting those employees that have coverage elsewhere you will need to enroll 75% of eligible employees.
